"First things first, the underground tram, it is my biggest sin, my biggest shame," UrbanLoon says. Before Loon Lake can become a city of the future, some earlier planning decisions have to go.

His Cities: Skylines 2 upload, "I Built a FUTURISTIC Utopia in Cities Skylines 2," drew roughly 71,000 views in its first 16 hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day audience. This installment returns to the city with a redevelopment list that starts underground and works its way toward the airport.

Out goes the awkward sunken tram system. In comes a grand subway park, new underground routes and a depot. But the renovation has consequences: demolishing buildings displaces residents, leaving Loon to add denser housing around the new central station. A better transit map needs people to use it.

Then there's the landfill beside the neighborhood, another decision he openly regrets. Waste disposal moves to an incineration plant positioned with the wind in mind, while the old dump becomes a forested park. An office district follows along the riverfront, receiving the wonderfully literal name "New Park Park."

Viewers have their own planning notes. Some call for more transit or a roundabout; another catches Loon announcing low-density housing before placing medium-density buildings instead.

For a creator whose stated aim is semi-realistic, detailed cities, the futuristic ambition still involves plenty of ordinary municipal work. Even utopia needs parking, and Loon uses the Parking Lot Tool mod rather than building every space by hand: "I love this mod, I hate making parking."
