VivCrochets adds a hooded scarf to her cold-weather wardrobe
Inspired by PetiteKnit's Sophie Hood, the tapered crochet design is approaching 100,000 views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Tapered Crochet Hooded Scarf Tutorial
VivCrochets had no new upload this week, but her tutorials brought in roughly 1.6 million views. That was one of the larger weekly totals among nearby craft and photography channels, with PASSION To PROFIT also having a busy week. Viv's subscriber count grew by about 3,000.
The fresh addition to her cold-weather collection is "Tapered Crochet Hooded Scarf Tutorial", posted just under two weeks ago. Inspired by PetiteKnit's Sophie Hood, it combines a fitted hood with a scarf that narrows towards its ends. Viv walks through the scarf first, then the connecting row and curved hood, before finishing with an outline and sewing. It is a different proposition from making a hat: neck warmth comes attached.
The scarf is now her second-busiest tutorial by daily views, behind "Crochet Beanie Tutorial for Beginners". In that project, Viv switches from half double crochet to shorter slip stitches near the crown, reducing the extra fabric that can bunch at the top of a ribbed beanie.
Daily viewing across the channel is running above its usual level, though the week also has a little summer left in it. "Tie-Front Crochet Mesh Top Tutorial" remains among Viv's busiest videos, offering a one-piece construction with minimal sewing and optional sleeves. The hooks haven't all switched to winter work.
