Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Gumball's production bible is really cool

Venotoons found a different sort of Gumball material to clip through: the production document behind the cartoon. Its only new upload, "Gumball's production bible is really cool", looks at artwork bridging the first two seasons and character ideas that did not reach the screen in quite the same form.

Ocho was originally unable to speak. William was intended to be Miss Simian's snitch, while Tina had a gang of bullies with Jamie as her sidekick. Those little differences give the short review its appeal: familiar faces, with slightly unfamiliar instructions attached. Venotoons also makes clear in the description that this material was already public before the Cartoon Network leak it mentions.

The upload has collected roughly 18,000 views. In the comments, viewers recall character biographies on Cartoon Network's website and printing artwork to use as posters; another singles out the second season's lighting. It is a conversation about the show's visual history as much as its jokes.

Across the clips channel, the older "Renting the worst movie ever", taken from "The Pony", carries the strongest daily momentum. It is approaching four million views. The channel's own reanimation, "I hate yourself (Gumball Season 1 Reanimated)", is also drawing viewers to a scene from "The Quest".

Venotoons added subscribers over the week, although daily viewing is a little below its usual pace. Among nearby film-and-TV channels, meetsstar had a particularly large viewing week, while Rotten Tomatoes was close to its normal daily rhythm. For Venotoons, the distinctive new addition was a look beyond the finished episodes, into the character notes behind them.

Season 2 of the show in particular had some stellar lighting.

I remember that character bio being on the Cartoon Network website and thought it was odd how William was never shown as a tattle tale. I also remember one of the original Total Drama cast members had being a mechanic in their bio but it was never brought up because it was scraped.
