"Ew, you're using the school bathroom to pee? That's disgusting." Tyler Vitelli opens "School Then vs Now" with a place that apparently no longer has time for its original purpose: there are videos to film.

The new upload has drawn roughly 950,000 views since it went up, less than a day ago. Vitelli plays students, a teacher, his dad and a classmate in staged reenactments, wrapping school stories around a handwritten scorecard comparing the past with the present.

His bathroom complaint is really about privacy. He describes trying to stay out of somebody's TikTok frame, with embarrassing consequences. Elsewhere, he argues that social media makes school humiliation harder to leave behind: the bell can end the school day without ending the commentary.

Not everything was easier before smartphones. A passed note could still deliver a devastating rejection, and copying a neighboring student's history answers required rather more stealth than asking ChatGPT. Vitelli makes that contrast the homework category's central joke, rather than pretending his younger self was above cheating.

The cafeteria comparison is getting some pushback from viewers. One describes orange chicken as the meal their school looks forward to; another says the supposedly old-fashioned food still resembles what's on their tray. Phone restrictions get a correction, too, from a viewer whose school doesn't allow them.

The video includes a sponsored healthcare-booking segment. But its main territory is familiar Vitelli material: school rules and awkward memories, subjects he has also mined in "School Drills Are DUMB.." and "Embarrassing School Moments We All Had".
