Sen. Eric Schmitt Says Botched 'Gotcha' Moment in Jack Smith Hearing Wasn't Embarassing | TMZ DC
Senator Eric Schmitt went on camera with TMZ DC to insist that his attempted 'gotcha' at the Jack Smith hearing was nothing to be embarrassed about. The description is less convinced, noting the moment seems to have backfired. That clip passed 200,000 views and became the channel's most watched upload of the week, with more than half of that coming on its first day.
Politics filled much of the rest of the TMZ DC corner. Sen. Mark Kelly suggested the president call his new White House ballroom 'Felony Hall,' and Sen. John Kennedy admitted he uses a special Senate version of ChatGPT without being entirely sure where the information goes. On the celebrity side, Remy Ma said she is single despite being seen with Millyz, and Howie Mandel said he has not yet been offered a contract for the next season of America's Got Talent.
The freshest momentum belongs to the Knicks. A day-old clip of Jose Alvarado shrugging off talk about respect, and another of John Starks arguing that New York is still the team to beat in the East, were gathering views quickly.
Overall, the channel ran at well under half its usual daily pace. Most of the news channels close to its size were below their normal levels too, while Fox News Clips had the biggest week in the group.
