Caitlin Clark at Maryland, not the Hawks: Josh G. on the Jack Smith hearing

A Senate perjury accusation that hinged on Hawks versus Hawkeyes became the week's most watched of fifteen uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The most watched new video on The Ring of Fire this week turns on a basketball mix-up. In "He IMMEDIATELY Regretted This...", host Josh G. walks through a Senate hearing in which Eric Schmitt accused Jack Smith of perjury over an Atlanta Hawks game. Smith said he had not been there; what he remembered was watching Caitlin Clark play at Maryland, and Amy Klobuchar pointed toward the Iowa Hawkeyes. Schmitt, the description notes, later said he had made no mistake. The video goes on to Smith's testimony about Republican witnesses and to Jim Himes' warning about the November elections, and it passed 80,000 views in under two days.

It was one of fifteen uploads, and Canada ran through several of them. One looks at Trump saying Canada will come back to the table and apologize, while Mark Carney tells Washington to stop the memes. The newest, "Trump Just Sealed America's Fate...", follows the trade fight to the border towns, motels and pancake houses that depend on Canadian visitors. Posted on Friday, it and a breakdown of Trump's TIME interview about pardons are the two gathering views fastest right now.

The channel as a whole moved more slowly than usual, at a little over half its normal daily pace. Among political channels of its size, the louder weeks belong to others: Jesse Dollemore and Pod Save America are running at more than twice their usual levels, and Trish Regan is drawing the largest daily audience of the group.
