Thrifted boxes become gifts on THE FLIPPED PIECE

Some of the boxes need decoration. The scalloped ones mostly need a little care. Shayna's only new upload on THE FLIPPED PIECE this week turns thrifted wooden boxes into gifts without giving them all the same finish.

She brushes nourishing balm inside and outside the scalloped boxes, letting the wood and curved edges do the work. A red velvet-lined box gets a more elaborate treatment: taped-off espresso-colored stripes, brass corner brackets and a knob. For the raw wooden box, she applies conditioner before walnut gel stain, then adds an antique-gold stencil to the lid.

The gift-making video has reached roughly 45,000 views. In the comments, scalloped edges are a recurring favorite, while others pick out the stripes against the red lining or the gold decoration. One viewer describes giving only secondhand holiday gifts, a fitting response to a project built around making existing things feel personal.

The channel's busiest video right now is a different kind of find: a dollhouse discovered beside the road. Posted just before this week began, it is drawing more daily views than the new box tutorial. An antique side-table makeover remains active too.

Shayna added about 4,000 subscribers over the week, more than half her gain for the past month. Daily viewing is also well above its usual level. That leaves a small gifting project sharing attention with the larger roadside rescue, two scales of the same thrift-and-transform impulse.

They are all pretty. However the simple scalloped ones have so much character with just a little nourishment. 🥹
