WordCraft, GridCraft and DeckCraft sound almost reassuringly familiar. That is precisely the problem for Sam Tucker's pretend Microsoft spokesman, who would prefer AI-assisted software development to remain a corporate privilege.
In "Microsoft Reacts to Vibe Coded Office Clone", the SAMTIME host puts on glasses and takes his place against a Microsoft office backdrop to inspect AI-built alternatives to the company's familiar productivity tools. This is a satirical sketch, not a statement from Microsoft.
His character spots one crucial missing feature: the subscription bill. "The only major difference I see is that their version doesn't come with our continual updates to the price tag," Tucker says.
The upload has drawn about 480,000 views since yesterday. Its subject moves Tucker from the folding-phone troubles of his earlier iPhone Duo parody to an awkward question for the AI business: what happens when the tools sold to automate other people's work start reproducing the sellers' products?
There is a further indignity for his character: the developers used Anthropic's Claude, not Microsoft's Copilot. Free alternatives prompt another bout of mock anxiety, with Linux and LibreOffice treated as unwelcome discoveries.
Tucker also shows Microsoft's brief actual response acknowledging the project without further comment, keeping it distinct from his exaggerated performance. He then widens the joke to gaming, including Minecraft brought into Dark Souls and a PS4 interface running in Roblox.
Viewers pick up that reversal in the comments, while others point out that LibreOffice was already offering an alternative long before this particular AI experiment.
