Karl Conrad's MacBook hands-on brings back a familiar glow

Eight uploads include an OLED iPad Mini preview and an iPhone Duo review that ends with a switch back.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Touch gestures open Karl Conrad's MacBook preview, but the lid supplies the talking point. He turns his attention to the illuminated Apple logo, then cuts to a stage reveal greeted by cheers. In the comments, viewers keep returning to that familiar glow, while a few admit the wallpaper initially made them think the screen was broken.

"OLED MacBook Pro HANDS ON. Touch Screen + Illuminated Logo" was the most watched of his eight new uploads, reaching about 182,000 views. Conrad demonstrates the touchscreen and describes the OLED display; his accompanying description also notes a lighter body and a higher price. New hardware, old visual affection.

Apple occupied much of the schedule. "OLED iPad Mini - Hands ON!" introduces an update to what Conrad calls his favorite iPad, with Pencil Pro support among the features he highlights. His iPhone Duo review takes a less celebratory turn: after spending time with it, he's switching back to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Amazon supplied the bedside alternative, with Echo Time setup and a photo frame that can attach voice notes to pictures.

The busiest upload right now comes from just outside this week's batch: his Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra unboxing. It is drawing more daily views than either the iPad Mini preview or the iPhone review, both of which also have momentum.

Across the channel, the week brought roughly 3.4 million views, the largest weekly gain among the nearby gadget channels. Subscribers held steady, though, and today's viewing is well below Conrad's usual daily level. Jeff Geerling and bigclivedotcom are having above-usual viewing days; Conrad's own week ends with the Surface unboxing doing the most daily work.
