"Ruger's not going out of business," Nutnfancy says early in his feature-length look at the manufacturer. The question viewers brought him gets a quick answer; the much longer business is working through what he says is disappearing from the catalog, and what those models meant to him.
His October 31 upload, "Ruger Out of Business? Nutnfancy Addresses the News, Goes Over Ruger Product Line," reached about 126,000 views. It was his only new video this week and is comfortably the channel's busiest upload by daily viewing.
The distinction he makes is between a company closing and a company narrowing its range to stay profitable. He cites Ruger media director Abby Schwarz on the possibility that discontinued product families could return if demand warrants it. Then the reviewer takes over from the industry commentator: he is sad about the LCR, astonished by the GP100's departure, and full of ideas for a wood-stocked revival of the Marlin Camp 9.
There is a personal history running beneath the catalog discussion. Nutnfancy says his experience using Ruger firearms stretches back to the 1980s. Viewers bring their own memories, including a first shooting experience with a father and recollections of subscribing to the channel many years ago.
The channel added subscribers over the week, although daily views are currently below half their usual level. Nearby, Administrative Results had a substantially busier week for views, while Mrgunsngear Channel's subscriber count was unchanged.
Behind the Ruger discussion, October's PSA AR15 pistol review and the Maverick 88 Security test remain the next most active uploads. The shotgun video began with a donor asking him to buy one and test it, a smaller, hands-on question alongside this week's manufacturer-wide stocktake.
An American firearms manufacturer based in Mayodan, North Carolina. Founded in 1949, it has been publicly traded since 1969.
