RM turns curator at SFMOMA, and NPR's week reaches past the news desk

The BTS leader's first exhibition of his own art collection, 'RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,' runs through February 7, 2027.

NPR's channel usually draws a little under 560,000 views a day. It has been running somewhat warmer than that, and fifteen uploads went up across the week, most of them straight from the news desk.

The biggest of them is still Carrie Kahn's short report from Brazil, about an election in which many voters say both candidates are corrupt. As we reported here, it started fast, and it has kept going: it has passed 340,000 views. Some of the most liked comments under it are less about Brazil than about a tired mood that viewers describe in their own countries. Others are about the thumbnail, where a few people insist they see Dwight Schrute.

The freshest upload is the one the channel's about text seems made for. RM, leader of BTS, has turned curator: the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is showing his personal collection for the first time. He started collecting in 2019. At the press briefing, Chloe Veltman reports, he joked that he worries about becoming a boring, rich snore. A day and a half in, it is already the second busiest of the channel's videos.

The rest of the week was harder news. Tom Bowman reported on Pete Hegseth's "State of the Force" address for Mary Louise Kelly. There was Tennessee's failed execution of Christa Pike, a strike on Kyiv, and a change to SNAP that hands states a larger share of the bill.

Among news channels of a similar size, NPR gained the fourth most views. Fox News Clips and DRM News had the big weeks, and Face the Nation was quieter than usual. NPR added about 8,000 subscribers.
