Is Englishness white? Suella Braverman's Question Time answer reaches Novara Media

Most of the rest of the channel's fifteen uploads head to Holborn & St Pancras, where Zack Polanski faces a by-election on October 8.

A usual day on Novara Media brings in somewhere around 600,000 views across the whole channel. These last few days have run a little warmer than that, and much of the reason is one short clip from the BBC.

"Does Reform Think You Have to Be White to Be English?" picks up Suella Braverman on Question Time. The former Conservative home secretary, now with Reform UK, said she does not consider herself English. An audience member and a panellist answered that she was pushing the idea that Englishness belongs to white people. The clip passed 130,000 views within its first day. Its comment section keeps returning to the closing moments, where several viewers say she shifted her position. The same exchange turned up again as the last segment of Michael Walker's Novara Live from the Green Party conference.

The rest of the fifteen uploads were mostly about one London seat. Holborn & St Pancras, the constituency Keir Starmer first won in 2015, goes to a by-election on October 8, and Novara sent two of its founding faces there. Ash Sarkar walked the campaign trail with Green leader Zack Polanski, talking housing, the triple lock and North Sea drilling. Aaron Bastani toured the constituency for a report billed as "The Battle for the Soul of the Left," and it became the channel's second busiest new video.

Among the political channels close to its size, the loudest weeks belong to Legal AF, Really American and Trish Regan. The Ring of Fire is running quieter than usual. Novara sits in the middle of the group, steady and a bit busier than normal.
