King appears frustrated as downpour hits, Queen Camilla flees

The royal welcome is barely under way when the rain arrives. King Charles III looks upwards, then turns around in search of an umbrella as he and Queen Camilla stand on a red-carpeted podium in Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda.

An aide brings cover for Camilla, who leaves the podium. Charles stays behind before stepping down and receiving an umbrella of his own. Around the stadium, spectators begin opening theirs too.

The footage, attributed on screen to ABS TV Radio and published by news.com.au, has drawn about 11,000 views in its first 14 hours. The upload's title describes Charles as appearing frustrated, but the sequence also follows what happens after the awkward wait: he continues inspecting the troops on the wet grass, stopping to speak with individual soldiers.

"And he still wants to stop and have a chat..." one commentator observes.

By the closing scenes, Charles is without the umbrella and meeting local dignitaries and sporting figures. A ceremonial coin toss brings laughter. "Now I'm going to see if I call right this time," he says before the toss, then tells an attendee: "I'm afraid you've lost the toss."
