Exclusive video shows moments of attack inside Philly salon
A memorial stands outside the shuttered Abba Blessed Beauty Salon in Philadelphia's Mount Airy neighborhood, where NBC10's Johnny Archer reports on a fatal shooting and sexual assault.
The station's surveillance footage shows an armed man entering, firing a shot and forcing an employee toward the back of the business. At a press conference, a representative of the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office describes how employees fought back when they believed the attacker had run out of ammunition or could no longer fire the gun.
The official calls their resistance "a very heroic act." The report also explains that investigators identified a suspect using convenience-store camera footage in which his face was visible. At the time of the report, officials said he remained at large and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.
The upload reached about 142,000 views in less than a day, far beyond the station's usual audience for a Short.
Archer identifies the woman killed as Beleniri Ofelia Hernandez Camilo, a mother of two. Her husband speaks briefly in Spanish about missing his wife.
