Luka Dončić banks it in from three-quarter court

NBA Europe's halftime heave against Portland has viewers joking that the shot deserves its own scoring rules.

Luka hits INSANE 3/4 court buzzer beater! 🚨🤯 #nba #lukadoncic #lakers

The ball reaches Luka Dončić in his own backcourt with barely a second to spare. He launches it toward the far basket, the halftime buzzer sounds, and the backboard supplies the finishing touch.

"You can count it!" the commentator calls as the Lakers' bench and the crowd celebrate. Dončić walks across the court, having turned a last-second possession against the Trail Blazers into a basket from three-quarter court.

NBA Europe's Short drew roughly 74,000 views in its first 18 hours, far beyond the channel's usual start for the format. Its comments are also unusually busy, with viewers finding a suitably playful question for a shot this distant: shouldn't it be worth more? Several suggest inventing a higher points award, while another focuses on the energy of the people witnessing it in person.

Dončić's long-range improvisations already have a substantial home on this channel: its most-watched Shorts include "Luka doing Luka things 🪄💫" and "Luka starting off an INSANE play 💥". This bank shot adds another very literal example of the "Luka magic" label.
