The excerpt begins with Sloane, played by L.A. Calkins, working in a meatpacking plant when she goes into labor. What follows is a deliberately grim origin story: her baby is discarded outside the plant, then discovered by Luda May Hewitt. The industrial setting makes the cruelty especially stark, with a birth treated as another interruption to the working day.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the 2006 film is a prequel to the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, rather than to the original film's continuity.
