Merloys is a clips channel. Its about text says it cuts moments from the Stiff Socks Podcast into short pieces, and lately nearly everything it posts is one game. One person holds a name or a thing in mind, the other asks simple questions to narrow it down. The past week brought a round about an object, one about Jackie Chan, another person round without a number, and a longer Guess Who compilation credited to Stiff Socks. Each of those has so far drawn a few tens of thousands of views at most.

Part nine pulled far ahead of them, and its comments came in about four times faster than on a usual first day. Most of them are about the answer, a figure from Second World War history, and about one question whose wording viewers read as a pun. Several also point out that the name is never said aloud in the clip.

The same game had already produced a hit. "CAN YOU GUESS THE NUMBER? 🤔😂 #Shorts", posted on September 29, passed a million views on the same day, and the channel added about 5,000 subscribers over the week.
