Video taking off 11x its usual first day

'7:00 PM makes it all worth it': MaxPreps viewers cast a high schooler as a movie lead

The Friday-night football short is moving at about eleven times the channel's usual first day, and its comments read like the opening scene of a sports film.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 214,689 views a day, 11 times a normal first day on this channel (20,042).

A short MaxPreps posted on September 30 had passed 128,000 views within ten hours. That puts "7:00 PM makes it all worth it 🏈 #shorts" on course for roughly eleven times what a new upload on the high school sports channel usually draws in a full day.

The clip is credited in its description to a TikTok creator and tagged for Friday night football. The title's promise is simple: the day leads up to kickoff. The comments did the rest. Viewers keep framing the player as the hero of a movie that has only just begun, and several write out the familiar voiceover line about wondering how he got here. Others single out a backflip followed by something closer to a playground skip.

The most-liked reply takes the other side. It is a gentle reminder that nobody reaches 7 PM without getting through AP physics first.

As we reported here, a lineman who kept playing through the whistle carried the channel two days earlier, and once again a short is doing the heavy lifting. A full highlight reel from an unbeaten Georgia region game, posted the same day, sits in the hundreds. So does the new podcast episode previewing Baylor against McCallie, a Chattanooga Game of the Week between two private schools.
