"It's new, but looks old," Yianni tells Mat Watson as he inspects the beige Land Cruiser. That is much of the appeal, though getting it onto British roads takes rather more than admiring its boxy bodywork.

The Land Cruiser 76 upload has reached about 1.4 million views.

The title's apparent time warp refers to a newly built vehicle with resolutely old-school looks. Mat sources two Land Cruisers from Japan, then works with technician Lee on the changes needed for UK approval, including a rear fog light and a speedometer conversion. Once behind the wheel, his assessment is succinct: "It's like a tractor." The vlog also contains a sponsored segment.

Across the channel, this week's viewing was close to its usual daily rhythm when averaged over the week, although today's viewing is noticeably higher. Subscribers stayed unchanged. Nearby in motoring, Junkyard Digs added subscribers this week, while Clearview Driving's daily viewing is below its usual level.

Mat's other active import story, "Why the new Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is so popular!", brings Richard Hammond into the sales pitch.
