Video taking off 29x its usual first day

'Is There a Question God Can’t Handle?' closes Craig Groeschel's question series

The last 'Asking for a Friend' message turns to shame from the past, and its comment section reads like a thank-you note for the whole series.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 54,042 views a day, 29 times a normal first day on this channel (1,842).

A strong finish. "Is There a Question God Can’t Handle?", the message that ends Craig Groeschel's "Asking for a Friend" series, had close to 44,000 views sixteen hours after it went up. A new upload on Life.Church usually ends its whole first day under 2,000.

The series rests on a simple idea, set out in the description: the questions people are too afraid to ask out loud, and would sooner type into a screen. Those questions, the description argues, deserve more than "an algorithm's best guess." Earlier messages, as we reported here, took on tithing, the afterlife and marriages gone cold. This last one is about shame that will not let go: can God forgive what I did, why do I still feel the weight of it, will it ever stop following me.

The chapter titles read like a stack of anonymous cards dropped in a box: "Is This Like Alcohol?", "Did I Ruin My Marriage?", "Why Don’t You Talk About This More?", "Is This God’s Voice or Mine?". The tags point to regret, politics in church and quitting porn, subjects a Sunday service does not always reach.

The comments treat the message as a farewell to the series. Several viewers write that they are giving their lives to Christ. One says nothing was off limits, another listens every Sunday from Boston, even on the road out of state, and another thanks Groeschel for a personal moment he shares near the half-hour mark.

The same title sits on other uploads from the same weekend, and those stayed in the thousands. It is this one, with its chapters and its full description, that carried Life.Church's Sunday.
