Broken matches, tin foil and a hammer: LastBush Survival's fire trick
The Basque bushcraft channel's one new short arrived while a two-month-old water distiller kept pulling in most of the traffic.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What do you do when the matchbox is crushed and the matches are snapped in half? LastBush Survival, the bushcraft channel filmed in the forests of the Basque Country, has an answer in its one new upload: gather the broken matches, wrap them in tin foil and strike the bundle hard, so that friction and pressure light it. The description is careful to call it an emergency demonstration, to be practiced only somewhere safe outdoors.
The short did a little over 10,000 views on its first day. Its comment section, though, settled on a co-star: a dog in the background, which several viewers credit, jokingly, with inventing the trick. Another adds that matches dipped in candle wax hold up against water, and one notes that a trashed thing is not always a useless thing.
The real weight of the week sits elsewhere. "Survival Skills: Water Distiller for Extreme Conditions," posted in early August, is close to six million views and still brings in far more each day than anything else on the channel. Perhaps that is why the whole channel is running well above its usual daily pace, roughly half again as busy as normal.
Among the outdoor and homesteading channels of a similar size, it is a lively stretch for several: Millennial Farmer is drawing more than twice its usual daily views, and Farming While Beige remains the giant of the group. LastBush Survival sits comfortably in the middle by subscribers, with a distiller doing much of the work.

@EVLfreakSee it on YouTubeAlright seems easy, just a match stick, hammer, a brick and a dog needed😊
@bobbyl.4872See it on YouTubeJust because it's *trashed* doesn't mean it's not usable. 👍
Just wish there was more matches to go around.@wbond6692See it on YouTube
