Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Is Steam Machine worth it if you already have a PS5 or Xbox?

Kevin Kenson's recent archive has two rather different invitations: reconsider the gaming hardware under your TV, or head back to Wutai. There were no new uploads this week, but his Steam Machine videos and Final Fantasy VII Revelation preview remained the channel's busiest viewing.

The hardware question has the clearest answer. In "Is Steam Machine worth it if you already have a PS5 or Xbox?", Kevin says existing console owners don't need another machine simply to play recent games. Linux computing and emulation are separate reasons to consider it. That short commentary is drawing more daily views than his longer account of spending a week with the little cube, testing indies and demanding AAA games.

The Revelation preview offers a different kind of hands-on time. Square Enix gave Kevin an hour to explore, including locations from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Wutai, while trying combat updates and characters including Cid and Vincent. Its title neatly captures his reservation: "Hands-On With Final Fantasy VII Revelation - Fantastic Combat and World That Might be TOO Much".

The channel added about 27,000 views, with subscribers unchanged. Daily viewing is below its usual level. Nearby gaming channels had busier weeks, notably Luke Stephens and Infinite Bits; Kevin's week belonged entirely to videos already on the shelf.
