Video surging 12x the video's usual pace

Keith Edwards tests America.gov, and a week-old stream returns at twelve times its pace

The nearly two-hour live replay also takes in Judge Judy, a boba tea campaign ad and a phone bank for Iowa's Rob Sand.

Why this story? The video is running at 38,187 views a day, 12 times its usual pace (3,256).

"TRUMP MAKES INSANE ANNOUNCEMENT | Judge Judy backlash + a Democrat goes viral for the worst reason" is not a quick clip. It is the replay of a livestream close to two hours long, posted on Keith Edwards' channel on September 23. Eight days later it is drawing nearly twelve times its own usual daily views and has passed 135,000.

The timing makes it stand out. The channel as a whole is running a little below its normal pace, so this is one old stream finding new viewers, not a wave lifting everything.

Edwards, who spent more than ten years as a Democratic strategist before turning to daily commentary, packs a lot into the replay. It opens with a phone bank for Rob Sand, the Iowa Democrat running for governor. About twenty minutes in comes the Judge Judy video that was circulating that day, followed by a campaign ad built around boba tea and a long stretch on what makes a candidate work online. Then come polls, a segment asking whether Ken Paxton could lose, and finally the announcement of the title: a site called America.gov, which Edwards tries out on air. Elon Musk's return to the White House closes the show.

Judge Judy did not stay in that stream. On September 30 Edwards gave her viral clip a video of its own, and it already has about as many views as the replay. Did that new upload send some people back to where the subject first came up?

The comments read like a guest book. People say they missed it live and caught the replay, and they sign in from Milwaukee, San Diego and Ottawa. Several tell Edwards to get some rest. Others notice the music and a preppier look than usual.
