Josh the Intern posted nothing new this week, but his expedition into the French Pyrenees has plenty of travelling left in it. "I Investigated the World's Deadliest Ghost Town" has reached about 1.4 million views and is drawing most of the channel's daily viewing.
The title supplies the menace, though the journey offers more than a spooky destination. Josh and adventurer Ash Dykes meet mountain guide Jules, pass tunnels and mine entrances, and detour towards abandoned industrial equipment down the valley. A heavy cable-pulley installation and an old metal cart make this a hike through the remains of working life, not simply empty scenery.
Then the fog closes in. The group crosses snow before reaching the cliff-edge settlement nicknamed "The Man Eater". Its billing as the world's deadliest ghost town is Josh's description; the steep approach and difficult conditions are visible parts of the adventure.
Across the channel, viewing is running well below its usual daily level, although the subscriber count grew by about 4,000 over the week. Nearby outdoor channels offer a mixed picture: Kyle Hates Hiking is also seeing slower daily viewing, while Survivorman - Les Stroud is close to its usual level.
Josh's older discoveries remain in motion too. "This Was Never Meant to Be Found! 😱 #ancienthistory #history #hiking #adventure #exploring" is the next busiest upload, with the Sahara structure exploration also continuing to attract views.
