Bre Ellis turns a pre-frost pepper harvest into hot sauce
Four uploads connect late-season picking with serrano sauce, garlic planting prep and more marigolds.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Late October Harvest In The Garden #harvest
Bre Ellis leaves some peppers on the plants to finish changing color. Others have a more immediate destination: the blender, with garlic, rice vinegar and a couple of habaneros for company.
That garden-to-kitchen thread runs through her four uploads this week. The most watched, "Late October Harvest In The Garden #harvest", reached roughly 47,000 views. Bre cuts oversized broccoli heads from plants she says went in around mid-July, peels dried luffa gourds to reveal their sponges, pulls carrots and gathers peppers before the first frost. At the outdoor table, the harvest becomes a promise of a serrano recipe.
She follows through in "Serrano hot sauce!", blending the peppers with garlic, sugar, water, rice vinegar and salt, then cooking, straining and reducing the mixture again. Meanwhile, viewers of the harvest video have their own kitchen plans: several focus on cooking the broccoli leaves, rather than leaving those greens behind. Others exchange ideas about gourds for baskets and birdhouses.
"A little update while I prep garlic to be planted" and "Adding More Marigolds!" round out the new arrivals. But the strongest daily momentum belongs to older preservation projects: her potato video accounts for just over half the channel's daily views, followed by the luffa-sponges-and-chicken-nesting-pads upload.
The channel added about 1,000 subscribers over the week, with daily viewing modestly above its usual pace. Among nearby outdoors channels, Kayli King and Big Water Guy are having particularly busy weeks. Bre's own most active new upload right now is the garlic-prep update, keeping next season's planting alongside this season's preserving.
