Clement Leung's London food crawl comes with Canadian sticker shock

Beef-rib noodles, Uncle Roger's Kawan and ube ice cream fill a Chinatown itinerary made straight after landing.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The noodles get cut at the table, but the price is what gives Clement Leung pause. At Noodle Inn in London's Chinatown, his enormous beef-rib biang biang dish costs £21.80, roughly $41 Canadian. "This is one of the most expensive noodle dishes I've ever had," he says.

"London Chinatown Food Crawl!" is the most-watched of his two uploads this week, reaching nearly 80,000 views in its opening twelve hours. He and his wife head straight from landing into a substantial eating itinerary: oyster and shrimp pancakes, village fried rice and pumpkin curry at Uncle Roger's Kawan, then a salted egg yolk custard bun at Bun House. Mamasons supplies the finish, ube ice cream tucked inside toasted pandesal.

The currency conversions have become their own conversation beneath the video. Londoners say the prices take getting used to even when you live there, while Canadian viewers wince at the converted amounts. Others offer noodle-shop recommendations for another outing.

His other new upload, "Tendernism In Business Class (Braised Lamb Shank on Turkish Airlines)", keeps the travel-and-food theme airborne. Back in the archive, the hosted tuna-cutting omakase visit to Toronto's Oroshi remains the channel's strongest daily draw, with the London crawl next and the quieter Tapow noodle-shop visit also adding views.

Subscribers held steady this week, although daily viewing is now more than twice its usual level. Among nearby food channels, Breanna Stark and Ahmad Noori had much larger viewing weeks; Clement's new menu, meanwhile, stretched from an airline lamb shank to ice cream in a toasted bun.
