Between a Subway and a convenience store, Revé wins over Clement Leung

His one new video visits a tasting-menu spot in Niagara-on-the-Lake, while a two-week-old Toronto tuna cutting keeps passing milestones.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

One video, one bold claim. Clement Leung's only upload of the week takes him to Revé in Niagara-on-the-Lake, a restaurant tucked between a Subway and a convenience store, and the description says he thinks it beats Michelin-starred places he has eaten at. He was invited and hosted by the restaurant, he notes, and the meal has passed 65,000 views in its first week.

The comments read like a planning session. People ask how much it cost, whether he had the four-course or the ten-course menu, and at least one viewer is going on Saturday. Others are just glad to see Canadian food in the spotlight, and someone noticed that halfway through the meal he seemed to be praying over it.

The real traffic, though, is coming from two weeks back. His omakase tuna cutting at Oroshi in Toronto, built around the idea that Canadian bluefin is prized in Japan, is closing in on three million views and still drawing tens of thousands a day. Behind it, older Toronto stops keep ticking over: his visit to The Lunch Lady, the Vietnamese noodle spot tied to Anthony Bourdain, and the second day of his 48 hours eating around the city with Mark Wiens.

The channel as a whole ran a little slower than usual, with about a million views over seven days. Among food channels his size, the bigger weeks belong to Breanna Stark and Louis Howard, both well above their usual pace.
