Grian catches Jimmy setting a trap at Scott's base, but stopping him isn't the priority. Improving his technique is. In the second episode of Final Life, discovering somebody else's explosive scheme becomes an impromptu building consultation.

"Final Life: Episode 2 - CUSHION BRIDGE!" has drawn roughly 590,000 views since yesterday. This is Minecraft survival with a crowded voice chat and very little reason to trust the neighbours: GoodTimeWithScar and Mumbo Jumbo are among the visitors demanding access to an enchanting table that Grian has quietly hidden behind a wall.

The title's bridge offers a more playful construction project. Grian lays a diagonal crossing over a snowy mountain ravine, using snow blocks and cushions to bounce across the gap. There's a panic room in his plans, too. With the Boogeyman joining the session, convenient transport and somewhere to hide both have their uses.

Then comes Jimmy, also known as SolidarityGaming, attempting a minecart TNT trap. Grian points out the faulty setup and helps him find sand and materials. For a creator whose catalogue includes "50 Ways To Mess With Your Friends In Minecraft", lending a hand with mischief is familiar territory.

Viewers keep returning to that unlikely act of assistance. Several also pick out the dramatic irony of BigB later telling Grian about Jimmy's actions without realising how much Grian already knows, while Mumbo listens in.

Helpfulness does have its limits. Grian's warning to Jimmy is emphatic: "If you kill me, I will never ever, ever, ever forgive you."
