Houston police shoot woman who allegedly shot man
FOX 26 Houston put out fifteen uploads over the week, and one short report did almost all of the lifting. "Houston police shoot woman who allegedly shot man" covers a Sunday morning in northwest Houston, where, as the station describes it, officers shot an armed woman, and several investigations are now underway. The report passed 130,000 views in a little over a day, far beyond anything else the station posted.
That one video pushed the whole channel to more than three times its usual daily pace. It came late in the week, though. Among the local news stations close to FOX 26 in size, only one added fewer views over the seven days. NBC 6 South Florida and East Idaho News had the biggest weeks in the group.
The rest of the week was the ordinary work of a station. A silent live radar feed tracked a stalled front bringing heavy rain along the coast and south of I-10. D.C. Daily previewed a Supreme Court session with gun cases on the docket, and Battleground Texas followed the key races ahead of November's midterms. A school bus crash in Polk County, Florida, was the one stop far from home.
The subscriber count held steady at about 739,000.
