Honest Game Trailers has now gathered close to 1.1 billion views over its life, and it got through these seven days without adding a single new video to the pile.
The one doing the most work is eleven days old. The Honest Game Trailer for Star Wars: Zero Company stumbles over its own subject in the first line, calling it Z-Com, then X-Company, before landing on the real name. The joke is aimed at the turn-based strategy game's family resemblance to XCOM. The description also bills it as the best turn-based game about evil mind-controlling parasite bugs since Baldur's Gate 3. Jon Bailey, the Epic Voice Guy, narrates, as he has for most of the series.
Behind it sits a trailer for Steam itself, hardware and all, which closes on a pun about having been "Gaben no other choice." Further back, a spring Honest Interview is still finding people: Neil Newbon and Devora Wilde, the voices of Astarion and Lae'zel, face what the channel calls a grueling charisma check, Skittles included.
Without a new upload, daily views ran a little below the channel's usual level, and the subscriber count held steady at about 1.35 million. Among the gaming news and commentary channels of a similar size, the busy weeks belong to GameTrailers, SpawnPoiint and Digital Foundry, while The Completionist is running a bit above his own norm. Honest Game Trailers spent its week in the archive, with a Star Wars spoof doing most of the talking.
