QSSR for the base PS5 gives SpawnPoiint's Chris his biggest upload

Sony's upscaler update for the original console passed 300,000 views in about a day and a half, in a six-video week that also took in GTA 6, Gears of War: E-Day and a Star Wars racer.

NEW PS5 update today (QSSR)

SpawnPoiint's channel has passed 776 million lifetime views, and the week that pushed it there ran on PlayStation news. Chris, the UK creator who says everything on the channel is shot on an iPhone, posted "NEW PS5 update today (QSSR)" on October 1, a quick explainer of Sony's new upscaling for the original PS5. His description puts it plainly: not quite the PSSR that PS5 Pro owners have, but getting close.

That video drew more than 230,000 views on its first day, and its comment section reads like a support group finally getting good news. The most liked replies celebrate base-console owners getting some attention, several point out that they are most of the people who own a PS5, and others are already making wish lists: Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 6, a sharper Ghost of Yotei.

The rest of the week went to the October calendar. A GTA 6 news roundup and the October PS Plus lineup, from F1 2025 to Hunt: Showdown 1896, both settled in well past 100,000, as did a top five that has Gears of War: E-Day and Phantom Blade Zero in it. Two of his 60-second reviews followed. The Gears one went up on launch day, with early access from Xbox. The newest, Star Wars: Galactic Racer played on a PS5 Pro, is less than a day old and already drawing a strong daily crowd.

All of it lifted the channel to about twice its usual daily views. Among the gaming news and review channels close to its size, only GameTrailers took in more views over the week; HaloFollower is also running a little ahead of its usual pace, while Skill Up and Caddicarus are quieter.
