A butt-shaped cam resets the Chrome Dino scoreboard for Engineezy
Parts 5 and 6 of the real-life dinosaur game turn on one problem, a five-digit counter that could only reset by running backwards, while the two-month-old Cactus Magazine nears 90 million views.

Auto Reset Scoreboard - Chrome Dino IRL Part 6
How do you reset a mechanical scoreboard without spinning it all the way back? That was the question hanging over Engineezy's Chrome Dino IRL series, his build of the offline browser game with the jumping dinosaur, done in plastic, gears and a conveyor belt.
Part 5 laid out the problem. The counter uses five number wheels linked by Geneva gears, so each full turn of one wheel nudges the next along by a single digit. It is lovely to watch, the description admits, but a high score meant running everything in reverse to get back to zero. The comment section turned into a brainstorm: weights inside the wheels, springs, levers, and one viewer describing a measuring wheel that already resets with a single button. Others remembered the same trick from old cassette deck counters, and someone thought of Ferris Bueler rolling back the odometer.
Part 6 is the answer, five days later. Each wheel now carries a butt-shaped cam that a follower pushes back to zero, with the connecting gears disengaging and reconnecting in the right order after a few tries. A servo joined the paddle, and the original counter stays on as the high-score keeper. In under two days it was already gathering views faster than Part 5.
The series' real engine is still Part 3, The Cactus Magazine, an indexing wheel that queues up obstacles, close to 90 million views and still drawing more than a million a day. Its description promises three magazines and a randomizer so the obstacles never repeat. The whole channel ran well above its usual daily pace and added about 10,000 subscribers, and among the DIY and building channels around its size, nobody gained more views over the week.

What viewers say
I have a wheel based measuring that has this mechanism, except there's a button on the top that lowers the Geneva gears and has a fork for each wheel that returns it to zero.
So if you press the button, it instantly resets everything.@sonofsword1080See it on YouTubeThe way you reset it reminds me of Ferris Bueler's Day Off when he has to roll the car's speedometer back so his friend's dad doesn't find out they took it out for a drive
