His only new upload pairs "Hips Don't Lie" with stick spins and an airborne catch.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

SHAKIRA - HIPS DON'T LIE - FIRE DRUMS #drumcover

EMIL VERGO had the largest weekly views gain among the nearby instrument channels, even with just one new upload. The channel added around 10 million views and continued gaining subscribers, though daily viewing is running well below its usual level.

The new arrival, "SHAKIRA - HIPS DON'T LIE - FIRE DRUMS #drumcover", makes its intentions clear immediately. Emil lights the tips of his sticks, spins them and starts playing along. Tricks fit between the drum strikes, with a toss and catch near the end before he carries on with the beat. It's a short performance, with no spoken introduction to get between the song and the spectacle.

The clip has reached nearly half a million views. In the comments, the flaming sticks are the talking point, with viewers picking out the fire and making their own small fire-related jokes.

That approach also connects the week's upload to the older performances drawing attention. "THE CRANBERRIES - ZOMBIE DRUMS WITH FIRE #drumcover" remains a substantial source of daily views, while "EVANESCENCE - BRING ME TO LIFE WITH FIRE DRUMS #drumcover" is moving more gently. Shakira's cover currently has the most daily momentum of the three.

Among his musical neighbours, Colby Fulton Drums also gained subscribers over the week, while Kristina Schiano and Mr. Tabs had unchanged subscriber counts. For EMIL VERGO, the million-subscriber milestone reported last week is now followed by another week of growth, with a pop-song detour for the burning sticks.
