Emil Vergo reaches a million subscribers with fire and water drums

A Bon Jovi cover accompanies the milestone, while his Backstreet Boys water-drumming Short remains the channel's most watched.

Why this story? The channel passed the 1,000,000 subscribers mark.

BON JOVI - YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME WITH REDBULL #drumcover

Bon Jovi gets the energy-drink treatment. Emil Vergo's latest drum cover takes on "You Give Love a Bad Name," adding another variation to a catalog where the drumsticks themselves can become part of the spectacle.

The drummer has reached a million subscribers, with his recent uploads moving between water, fire and familiar choruses. His October mashup combines the Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and "Eye of the Tiger" under the very literal title "I Set My Drumsticks On Fire For This Mashup #drumcover".

But water still has a prominent place in his channel's history. His Backstreet Boys "Everybody" water-drumming Short has accumulated roughly 56 million views, making it his most watched Short. A water version of Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" sits close behind it on that list.

The fire-drums version of the Cranberries' "Zombie," which we covered earlier, has meanwhile reached roughly 16 million views. That is a substantial audience for a return to a song already represented among his biggest Shorts.

Vergo's older regular videos offer a different entry point: instrumental trap covers, a Hans Zimmer-style "GOOBA," and drum versions of themes from The Witcher, The Avengers and Gladiator. The milestone belongs to a catalog that stretches beyond the combustible kit.
