Dolan Darkest invents a website, and someone buys it
His Simpsons update turns the domain-name joke back on him, becoming the week's most-watched new upload.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Simpsons Might Be Cooked
How do you cover a website prank without sending people to the website? Dolan Darkest tried inventing a substitute address. Someone promptly registered that one too.
That is the neatly circular joke in "The Simpsons Might Be Cooked", which passed a million views and became the most-watched of seven uploads this week. Over Fall Guys gameplay, Dolan revisits a background URL in the show's Treehouse of Horror special that ended up hosting explicit artwork. He says an email from the site's creator corrected his earlier account: the domain had been bought before the episode aired, not afterwards.
Then comes his own small registration problem. The fake address he used to avoid naming the original site now redirects to his previous video, accompanied by a message telling him he should have seen it coming. "So I guess I'm really not much better than The Simpsons," he says. Viewers are discussing both the purchase of that substitute address and the comparatively old-fashioned choice to make it a joke rather than a cryptocurrency pitch.
Elsewhere, the week ranged from Spotify's AI remix plans to Fortnite players hunting the Pirate Shop Access Token. The newest PewDiePie commentary has the strongest daily momentum, while the Fortnite upload also remains among the channel's busiest videos.
Dolan Darkest added roughly 3,000 subscribers across the week, although daily viewing is currently about a third of its usual pace. Among nearby commentary channels, Austin Sweatt had the largest weekly viewing total, with Dolan Darkest next and Rachel Louise also drawing a substantial audience. For Dolan, the week's most memorable detour was a made-up address that refused to stay made-up.
