Dat Van's whole-carp bait comes with a ripped-pants detour

Four uploads brought oversized bait and a tiny-creek search, with the whole-carp Short reaching about 365,000 views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Using A WHOLE Invasive Fish As Bait GONE WRONG😳Using A WHOLE Invasive Fish As Bait GONE WRONG😳

Dat Van gets a bite out of his bait before he gets anything close to a catch. After hours of waiting on the muddy riverbank, he reels in a whole carp with a large chunk missing, then casts what remains back into the water.

That is the setup for "Using A WHOLE Invasive Fish As Bait GONE WRONG😳," the most-watched of his four new uploads. When the line finally goes, his rush along the bank brings an extra complication: his pants catch and rip. The rod bends, the tension builds, and the fish escapes with the bait. Its identity stays underwater.

Viewers have plenty to discuss without a species reveal. Several question the size and placement of the treble hooks; others compare the enormous bait with their own personal-best catches. One wants to know whether Dat uses live carp. Those are questions and theories, not an identification of whatever took the line.

Oversized bait ran through the week, from "Using A MASSIVE Half of A Fish As Bait For Monsters..." to "Using HUGE Baits For RIVER MONSTERS🤯". "I Found A MONSTER Lurking In TINY Creek🤯" supplied the small-water contrast. The whole-carp upload is also the channel's busiest video by daily views, with the older tiny-rod challenge and unusual-fish pond upload contributing behind it.

The channel added about two million views across the week and gained subscribers, while daily viewing is now more than half above its usual level. Among nearby outdoor channels, Vanwives had a particularly busy week and aminata garden also drew substantial viewing; Landshark Outdoors and Wargeh Bushcraft were quieter. For Dat Van, the strongest new draw was a fishing attempt that delivered a torn pair of pants rather than a landed fish.

  • Unfortunately I knew from both the size and placement of those tiny treble hooks that that if a fish was big enough to take the whole carp that those hooks couldn't stop it. Wish we got to see what it was though
