Posted the day after its Starship video, the short title pulled several normal opening days' worth of viewers in a matter of hours, on a network better known for Congress.

Six hours after C-SPAN posted "Amodei & Musk on AI risks," it had passed 31,000 views. At that pace it is headed for roughly eleven times what a new upload on the channel usually gathers in its whole first day.

That is a gentler climb than the recent Trump clips, the Canada trade remarks and the Iowa steel plant, but it is nowhere near routine for C-SPAN. The comment section is busy for a clip this young, with close to one comment for every three likes.

The title is short and gives little away beyond its two names and its subject. Amodei is a leader of Anthropic, the company behind the Claude models. Musk runs SpaceX and Tesla and founded xAI, the maker of the Grok chatbot. Both have spoken publicly for years about the dangers of powerful AI, and the title puts them side by side on that subject.

It also keeps Musk's world at the front of the channel. A day earlier, C-SPAN left Capitol Hill to post Starship's first orbit.
