The chore after the granny squares: Create by K's 'NEW method' to join them
The short passed 35,000 views in its first 13 hours, while the autumn headband tutorial posted the same day is still small by comparison.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 48,566 views a day, 26 times a normal first day on this channel (1,870).

Anyone who has made a granny square blanket knows the squares are the fun part. Then comes the joining: a pile of little motifs that all have to be stitched into one piece. That last step is the subject of Create by K's newest short, which the title bills as a "NEW method to join your crochet squares."
It went up on October 5 and had about 35,000 views thirteen hours later. A new short on this channel usually ends its whole first day below 2,000. The likes kept pace, already many times what a short here usually collects in a full day.
The title does not say which join it is, and crocheters have plenty to choose from: whip-stitching, slip stitch seams, join-as-you-go. The only comment so far comes from an Italian viewer who loves the idea and wants to know how to get started.
The channel, whose about text promises tutorials in crochet and Tunisian crochet, mixes quick clips like this one with longer lessons. The same day brought "EASY Fall Crochet Bow Headband Tutorial," a full beginner pattern for textured autumn bows made from leftover yarn, which has drawn only a fraction of the short's audience so far. And the green border short from October 4, as we reported here, has kept going: it is past 80,000 views.
