Get ready with us!

Emily is straightening her hair when Nic appears behind her to shout jokingly at the viewers. Getting ready for a CrackerMilk shoot still leaves plenty of room for interruptions, especially when someone needs to try on a short white angel dress.

"Get ready with us!" is a casual backstage livestream, not another scripted sketch. It drew roughly 53,000 views in its first six hours today, offering a different view of the team behind uploads such as "Taking a poly test" and "When she hates your favourite movie".

Emily and Tam chat from a room crowded with costumes and props, answering questions about their working lives. Connor's house is the team's workplace, Emily explains, rather than a shared home for the cast. She's also preparing to move from sketch shoots into rehearsals for Brisbane comedy show A Very Naughty Christmas.

The contrast between performer and person becomes part of the conversation. "No, because in real life I am way more introverted and a normal person," Emily says. Among the comments, viewers mention how unfamiliar it feels to see the group outside their characters.

The camera eventually leaves the hair preparations behind. Nic tests the angel costume, Tam finds Elias cleaning up spilled water in the kitchen, and Elias brings out his Magic: The Gathering cards. His trip to the shed reveals a custom Warhammer display board and the team's labelled height chart, while preparations continue around him: Chase is rigging lights for an angel set.
