Jared Moskowitz has a warning for Democrats celebrating their expanding House majority: winning power is not the same as delivering results.
"We have to deliver results. We have to deliver restoration. We cannot just deliver revenge," the Florida Democrat tells Wolf Blitzer in CNN's election-aftermath coverage. He argues that high living costs drove the result and should remain central to his party's agenda.
The interview accompanies CNN's projections of four additional Democratic pickups, including three in traditionally deep-red North Carolina districts. Dana Bash's panel examines how far Democrats have reached into Republican territory, with David Chalian identifying Texas's ninth district as the strongest Trump-supporting district where a Democrat has won so far.
Manu Raju describes the depth of the projected Republican minority as unexpected. But the discussion quickly turns from the scale of the victory to the choices facing Hakeem Jeffries: how to accommodate incoming moderates and progressives while pursuing both affordability measures and congressional oversight.
CNN also examines Republican redistricting efforts that failed to secure the intended electoral advantage. Moskowitz interprets his own Florida victory as a rejection of redistricting as well as a response to household financial pressure.
The broadcast drew about 1.6 million views since yesterday. Its closing interview gives the expanding election map a practical political question: what should Democrats do with their majority? Moskowitz's answer is explicit: "I think we have to focus on affordability. That's what this election was about."
