Barely a day after it went up, CBN News' report on the nor'easter along the East Coast has passed two hundred thousand views.
That is an unusual start here. A new video on the channel usually has a modest first day. This one is moving at about twenty-six times that pace, and on its own it is running close to what the entire channel, with its long archive of news and faith stories, draws on an ordinary day.
The report covers the first nor'easter of the season, a slow-moving storm that reached some forty million people from Maine to North Carolina. It describes gusts up to 80 miles an hour, waves of 16 feet and more, and states of emergency in New Jersey and New York, where flooded streets looked like rivers. The tags point further south, to flooding on the Outer Banks and the closure of NC 12, the highway that runs along those barrier islands.
The storm came close to home. CBN, the Christian Broadcasting Network, is based in Virginia Beach, on the same stretch of the Mid-Atlantic coast.
