Tetairoa McMillan jokes about who calls after a big game against the Lions

The Panthers receiver's dry line about reporters turned the comments into a fantasy football clubhouse, with owners crediting him for their weekend.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 926,814 views a day, 41 times a normal first day on this channel (22,532).

Tetairoa McMillan had his big game against the Lions, and afterward he had a joke ready for the reporters in front of him: they only seem to want to talk when he plays well. The clip comes from the Carolina Panthers' own channel, and Bleacher Report reposted it as a short.

That one dry remark traveled far. Eight hours after it went up, the short had passed 460,000 views. A new Bleacher Report upload usually doesn't reach a twentieth of that in a full day.

The comment section reads less like a press conference and more like a fantasy league's group chat. Owner after owner says McMillan saved their week. One viewer started both him and CeeDee Lamb. Others started the same pair and still lost. The most liked comment hears some real pain behind the joke. Another says the Lions defense would make anyone look like an All-Pro. A Falcons fan admits he can't help liking McMillan and Bryce Young as people, and several viewers already picture the receiver and his quarterback setting records together.

Carolina took McMillan eighth overall in the 2025 draft out of Arizona. Moments like this one are a big part of why a club posts its locker-room footage in the first place.

The same evening brought a second strong start for the channel. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spoke warmly about Russell Westbrook in a clip from the Thunder, the team Westbrook played for over eleven seasons. By the next morning the feed had moved on to LaMelo Ball's first preseason game for Minnesota, including a logo three he hit while play was stopped for a clock problem.
