BBC World Service posted fifteen videos this week, nearly all of them episodes of its podcasts, and one kept running well past its opening day. "Has the world lost the fight against heat?" from The Climate Question has passed 150,000 views in under two days. It followed the episode on missing the 1.5C target, which was already the channel's big mover the day before.
Nothing else comes close, but two brand-new episodes are moving briskly for their age. What in the World asks whether it is time to find a side hustle. Global Eye's "The Murder That Exposed Malta" is only a day old. The week also went further afield: Asia Specific on why young people in China are turning to spirituality, The President's Path on Trump's friends and frenemies abroad, and The Global Jigsaw on victims of the Assad era who are still waiting for justice. Stumped, the cricket show, asked whether Zaheer Khan, the former India fast bowler, is the right man to lead CSK.
Subscribers kept arriving at a healthy clip. The broadcasters around the channel mostly had a softer stretch, with ITV News and AccuWeather both well below their usual pace.
