"Not Again… 💀" passed a million views before its first day was over. Like most uploads on Asmongold Shorts, the clips channel that cuts Asmongold's streams into highlights and reactions, it explains nothing in its title. A new short there usually ends its first day at around 48,000 views.
The comments explain what the title leaves out. Viewers say the game on screen is the new Gears of War, and their running joke is how little the player seems to be needed. They describe friendly AI teammates doing the shooting, the same teammates missing every target on the training range, and a sequence that reaches its end while the streamer mostly watches. Several call it a participation-trophy game. One viewer compares it to an older sibling handing over an unplugged controller and saying you are doing great. That is a pointed joke for a series that has been built since 2006 on cover-to-cover firefights and a rifle with a chainsaw bayonet. The comment section filled about thirteen times faster than a usual first day.
Two other shorts from Sunday also ran well ahead of the channel's usual start. In "This Is Insane," Asmongold reacts to Emiru's Silent Hill nurse cosplay, and another clip covers a hot take from Valkyrae. Neither came close to the Gears clip.
Not every viewer is complaining. A few point out that, for once, the AI teammates are actually useful.
