A large campaign crowd makes a striking picture, but what does it tell voters about the programme behind it? That is the question Arise News's panel puts to Atiku Abubakar's presidential campaign launch in Sokoto, where supporters chant "Tinubu Must Go".
The edition of What's Trending with Ojy Okpe reached about 140,000 views in its first 16 hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for regular videos. Separate coverage of the Sokoto launch and an interview with ADC legal officer Oserheimen Osunbor also drew unusually strong starts.
Okpe shows footage of Atiku's running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, criticising the administration. But the studio discussion turns from crowd size to substance: Bimbo and Rufai Oseni press the importance of manifestos and policies rather than rally optics. Atiku's proposals include targeted fuel subsidies for petroleum products refined in Nigeria and a pledge to tackle insecurity.
The programme then takes up a question that reaches beyond any campaign: who should check the electoral register? Former education minister Oby Ezekwesili wants an independent citizens' audit following the discovery of fake entries. INEC says it is removing invalid records and promises a clean register. Reuben Abati examines Ezekwesili's argument that the commission cannot investigate itself, while questioning how an audit team could establish its independence.
The other half of the video's title arrives well into the programme. Okpe reports Tinubu's account of working as a taxi driver in the United States to finance university. The closing entertainment item offers a different education story: Mr Macaroni receiving his acting master's degree with distinction from London's Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
