Peter Obi has pledged to serve a single presidential term. At an APC rally in Enugu, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu argued that the South-East should not accept that limit when the presidency reaches the region, while urging support for Bola Tinubu's re-election.
That tension leads an unusually widely watched edition of What's Trending with Ojy Okpe on Arise News. The upload reached roughly 119,000 views in 13 hours, far beyond the channel's usual early audience for regular videos.
Kalu's argument is about regional entitlement to time in office: after a long wait, he says, an Igbo president should have eight years rather than four. In the studio, Reuben Abati places the discussion within a broader question of inclusion. "This is all about justice, fairness, equity, ensuring that every Nigerian has a sense of belonging," he says.
The programme then turns to the limits of campaign loyalty. After Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji calls opponents of Tinubu's re-election enemies of the country, Rufai Oseni answers with a straightforward democratic principle: "They have a right to disagree."
The other scenes promised in the upload's title arrive considerably later. At about 34 minutes, a video from the City Boy Movement shows Seyi Tinubu asking its AskCityBoy chatbot to list his father's achievements. Those are a political movement's claims about the administration, not an independent assessment of its record.
Around 38 minutes, the programme moves to Henry Seriake Dickson's homecoming in Bayelsa, including footage of Obi aboard a traditional Ijaw war boat during the celebrations.
