Alberta Tech gives Elizabeth Holmes a disastrous pull request
The programmer parody passed 1.4 million views in a five-upload week that also tackled AI doom and falling tech stocks.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
If Elizabeth Holmes was a programmer
The website won't stop spinning. Jerry is reviewing a supposed bug fix, but the Elizabeth Holmes character in Alberta Tech's sketch has submitted an enormous code change with a rather conspicuous side effect.
In a blonde wig and black turtleneck, Alberta delivers the impersonation in a low, deliberate voice. Asked about the changes, she replies, "That sounds right." Her next line turns code review into an intimidation exercise: "Jerry... why would I deceive you?" This is a staged software-workplace parody, with the Theranos founder reimagined as a programmer.
"If Elizabeth Holmes was a programmer" was the most-watched of the week's five uploads, reaching roughly 1.4 million views. Viewers keep mentioning how long it took them to recognize Alberta without her glasses. Others ask for the character to return, while one programmer recalls a real animation bug that made the sketch's spinning website feel uncomfortably familiar.
The rest of the week moved between workplace comedy and bigger tech questions. "If devs gave accurate eng estimates (part 2)" revisited scheduling promises, while "Your co-worker who definitely lied in the interview" now draws the most daily views of any upload on the channel. Both engineering-estimate sketches, including the October original, also carry substantial momentum.
"AI might end humanity by 2030." asks whether apocalyptic predictions reflect genuine risks or Silicon Valley marketing, with attention to effective altruism and problems already happening. "Why tech stocks are crashing." rounded out the week's releases.
Alberta Tech added about 4,000 subscribers, bringing half a million within reach, though daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. Among nearby sketch channels, Cheap Noodle had a particularly large viewing week and EthanThe Artist also drew a bigger weekly audience. Alberta Tech's own week combined a recognizable impersonation with the very specific dread of approving someone else's code.

She is so deep into character that I didn't even notice it was Alberta
@luckylannoSee it on YouTubeActually had that exact bug. A CSS minifier decided to rewrite the name of a keyframes declaration to ‘a’ in 2 different files. The result was the spin animation from 1 file being applied to the entrance animation from the 2nd.
