Bayrampaşa'da Yol Çöktü: 1 Ölü | A Haber
An infrastructure worker died after falling into a trench during pipeline work in Istanbul's Bayrampaşa district, Turkey's A Haber reports.
Reporter Numan Erşan Karaca identifies the worker as Ali Demirci, 39. He says Demirci lost his balance and fell into the excavation, becoming trapped between soil and iron piping. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Şehir Parkı Avenue in the Kocatepe neighborhood, on Istanbul's European side.
Police, firefighters and medical teams responded to emergency calls. Rescuers pulled Demirci from the trench, but medical intervention could not save him, according to Karaca's telephone report to presenter Merve Tepe.
The segment opens with reports of workers trapped following a road collapse, before focusing on Demirci's death. Its title, "Bayrampaşa'da Yol Çöktü: 1 Ölü | A Haber," means "Road collapses in Bayrampasa: 1 dead."
Karaca says an investigation has been opened and will examine the safety precautions at the site. The report gives no findings on what caused the collapse or whether safeguards were inadequate.
