A family in Diyarbakır has filed a formal complaint alleging their child was switched with another newborn at a hospital, Turkey's A Haber reports, after DNA testing found no biological relationship between the teenager and either parent.
Reporter Sinan Yılmaz says the discovery began with a conversation among siblings about blood types. The apparent inconsistency with the parents' blood types prompted the family to seek a DNA test. According to his account, that test showed the people the teenager had grown up knowing as their mother and father were not their biological parents.
The broadcast moves from the studio to Yılmaz in Diyarbakır, in southeastern Turkey, and includes footage of the city's courthouse. It presents the suspected hospital switch as the family's allegation, following the reported test result. The segment ends with their complaint; it gives no outcome of an investigation or information about whether another family has been located.
