Bill Whitaker's Colorado investigation starts with a prison sentence but reaches into ranchland, disaster relief and infrastructure funding. It was 60 Minutes' most watched new upload of the week, reaching roughly 808,000 views.
The report follows President Trump's demands to free convicted former county clerk Tina Peters. Governor Jared Polis explains his decision to commute her sentence, while Colorado officials describe federal funding pressure. Whitaker also interviews Peters after her release, finding her continuing to question voting machines. As we reported here, the investigation connects that political story with the consequences for Colorado residents awaiting aid.
Another substantial audience gathered around "ICE deported Texas dad to Ghana because home country was unsafe; Ghana sent him anyway | 60 Minutes". The report examines third-country deportations and how people can ultimately reach countries where U.S. judges have ruled they are likely to face persecution. It is currently drawing views faster than the Colorado segment, though the latter has the larger total.
The week's full broadcast brings both investigations together with Australia's under-16 social media ban. Across the channel's seventeen uploads, individual reports attracted considerably more viewing than that complete edition.
Subscribers were unchanged over the week, while daily views are running modestly above the channel's usual level. Among nearby television and streaming channels, Peacock had a particularly large week; 60 Minutes also drew more weekly views than Bravo or Oscars.
The strongest current momentum belongs to "Elizabeth Holmes & Theranos | 60 Minutes Archive". Norah O'Donnell's 2018 reporting on the blood-testing company's failed promise has found another substantial audience between the new investigations.
